We know what it takes to be a good assessor – the ITB Competence Assurance team has several talented individuals trained to fulfil that function.

We take pride in sharing the skills, knowledge and practical experience gathered by our own people. Our aim is to help organisations underpin their Competence Management Systems with rigorous and meticulous attention to detail. Our courses have gained accreditation from OPITO and the SQA, reinforcing the support from industry and the education sector for our carefully structured approach to learning.

SQA Workplace Assessor Award

The Workplace Assessor Award is a unit of accreditation. It is recognition of competence for those who have responsibilities for assessing candidates who are, for example, working towards in-house competencies or vocational qualifications.

There are no minimum educational requirements for entry to the award. However, each candidate must have access to two people who are working towards their qualifications in the workplace. In certain circumstances trainers/teachers in the appropriate skills/competencies will qualify for entry. In addition the training is currently only delivered in the English language. A basic command of the spoken English language, therefore, or access to the necessary assistance in terms of translation facilities will be a prerequisite. All entry qualifications and any special requirements will be authenticated prior to the candidate being enrolled on the course.
